One of the rituals of spring training is photo day -- some time after the full squad has reported but before the exhibitions begin, the players spend much of a morning being photographed for a variety of purposes.

A couple of days after that, the Associated Press moves a collection of head shots. And one of my rituals of spring is a tedious couple of hours spent downloading, cropping and renaming them.

There are 71 such photos in a folder on my computer this spring. Some of them -- Joe Mauer, Paul Molitor, Glen Perkins -- are well known. Some of them will be some day. Some will never be.

What I'm going to do for a few days is post a photo for you to guess the identity and the next day discuss that player (or coach). Above is today's mystery man.
