New Ulm native Jamie Hoffmann has been returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers by the New York Yankees.
There are rumors that the Yanks still hope to work out a trade with the Dodgers to get Hoffmann as a minor leaguer, but their leverage, such as it was, is gone. He's not now a member of the Yankee organization.
So much for my notion that he might be an option for the Twins once the Yankees realized he wasn't going to stick on their 25-man roster.
Incidentally, the photo MLB.com used in the above link is the same one that shows a left-handed throwing outfielder. I'm not the only one who got stung on that pic.
