No surprise, really. It just makes official what was widely expected.
The organization has had a couple of weeks to contemplate the development. My guess is that they'll open the season with the pitchers they have on hand and see if they can run the bullpen effectively that way rather than trade for an "established" closer.
The Twins have reportedly been scouting Heath Bell, who led the National League in saves last season for the Padres. If the Twins are looking to deal, he is the most likely target.
